PLAY GAMES
The Somerville Dog Festival is a free event and the only one of its kind in the country. The goals of the event are two-fold: to educate and promote healthy, happy pet ownership and activities, thereby lowering the need for relinquishment and euthanasia of animals due to behavior problems, and to raise funds for those in need within our community.
HAVE FUN
The festival is an opportunity to try new things with your best friend. Training, games, a day in the sun (or rain!), getting your steps in together and enjoying the city and your neighbors and friends for a good cause.
Remember, there are no calories at a dog festival, so enjoy the food trucks and treat snacking!
HELP PETS AND PEOPLE
The Somerville Dog Festival is organized by the Somerville Foundation for Animals, which works to make sure no one ever has to choose between caring for themselves and their pets.Through your donations and through our sponsors' generosity, the Festival raises money for the Foundation's Every Pet Counts Care Van, providing free veterinary care to the pets of homeless and at-risk veterans, elderly, and families throughout Eastern Massachusetts.
This year we’re raising funds for a mobile x-ray machine, and for medical supplies to increase our ability to care for these MVPs (most valuable pets).

The festival runs from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm, rain or shine.

Bring your fanciest outfit - no reservations are necessary! We'd love to see you strut your stuff!

Every year, SomDogFest has approximately 20+ vendors for you and your pup to enjoy the festival.

Sniff That Thing!
Starting with food in boxes, your dog will build skill quickly, and you’ll really be impressed by your dog’s nose as you and he gain skill in the game.

Food Trucks
We have invited food trucks to attend our festival to sell food and beverages for lunch or a snack.

Chase That Thing!
Dogs of all sizes get a walk-through of the doggie chase course, followed by the running, leaping, chasing and of course catching that all dogs love!
Donation of 10 tickets per turn please. Tickets are on sale at the info booth and all over the fairground.
Be Agile
Does your dog like to walk on logs, back of the couch, or go for the counter? Then you probably have an agility star!

Come When Called Class
Whether you are at the dog park or just playing in your home or backyard, coming when called is vital to keeping you and your dog safe during any activity.
Our Come When Called Class will give you the building blocks to successfully train your dog to Come When Called.
